Undas observance, a pillar of Filipino faith, identity: PRRD

DAVAO CITY – Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte said the century-old tradition of honoring those who led virtuous lives and the remembering of the departed signify the strong pillar of faith and identity of Filipinos.

Duterte addressed the whole nation on Monday (Nov. 1) in a message, as Filipinos start the two-day observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

I join all Filipino Catholics in the Philippines and around the world in commemorating All Saints Day and All Souls Day,” Duterte said.

The President also asked prayers for those who died due to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and for those who sacrifice to save more Filipinos during these times of the pandemic.

“This occasion offers us time to reflect and be grateful for the gift of life and the promise of eternity,” Duterte said.

He also trusts that Filipinos will overcome the present health crisis and the country to emerge as a stronger nation. (NW)
