BOC-Davao strengthen ties with PNP-Regional Maritime Unit 11

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Davao conducted a coordination meeting with the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Regional Maritime Unit 11 on November 17.

The said meeting aims to strengthen border protection in their shared areas of responsibility.

Lawyer Erastus Sandino B. Austria, BOC-Davao District Collector discussed matters on law enforcement especially of the R.A. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, as well as other existing customs rules and regulations.

The meeting also highlighted information gathering of the possible smuggling of cigarettes, fuel, drugs, and other antisocial commodities through the possible deployment of floating assets as an additional border protection initiative of the partnered offices.

The PNP presented their current accomplishments, programs, and security.

BOC Davao will continue to closely collaborate with its partner law enforcement agencies to protect the borders of Mindanao from contraband. (PR)
