`Bakuna Booster by the Sea’ opens at Waterfront Hotel

The City Government of Davao, through the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) and the Davao Tourism Association (Data), opened the `Bakuna Booster by the Sea’ for walk-ins on Wednesday, January 12, at the Grand Pavilion of the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao.

CTOO Head Generose Tecson, during the Madayaw Davao program of 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on January 12, said: “Kinausap po namin ulit ang Waterfront Hotel and thankfully,  pumayag ang Gatchalian family na mag-sponsor ulit ngayon (We talked with the Waterfront Hotel and thankfully, the Gatchalian family agreed to be the venue sponsor again).”

The `Bakuna Booster by the Sea’ is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on January
12 to 15 and January 19 to 23.

“Open for everybody pero first-come, first-served. Ang minimum po natin is 750 hanggang 1,000 pax a day. Lahat na po pwedeng mag-walk-in sa Waterfront Hotel po (It’s open for everybody on a first-come, first-served basis. We target a minimum of 740 to 1,000 vaccinees a day. Anybody can just walk-in at Waterfront Hotel),” Tecson said.

She underscored that there is no cut-off as long as they meet the daily minimum target under the first-come, first-served policy.

She added, “Mag-start po today hanggang Saturday. And then next week naman po, Wednesday again on January 19 until Saturday and Sunday. At least sa gustong magpabakuna on a weekend, meron kayong choice po (It will start today until Saturday. And then next week, it’s going to resume on Wednesday again, on January 19, until Saturday and Sunday. For those who want to get vaccinated on a weekend, you now have your choice).”

The booster vaccines available, according to her, are AstraZeneca and Sinovac only since Pfizer is reserved for pediatric 12 to 17 years old vaccinees.

Interested vaccinees must bring their Safe Davao QR code, completed vaccination card for first and second doses, valid government ID, and ballpen. They are also reminded to wear a face mask and observe social distancing at the vaccination site.

Most of the City Health Office (CHO)-managed vaccination hubs also cater to booster shots. Check the operational vaccination sites at https://www.facebook.com/davaocitygov.
